Translation Services

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Office of Language Access, previously known as the Translation and Interpretation Unit, supports DOE offices and public schools in their efforts to connect with families who prefer to communicate in a language other than English, to ensure equity and access for all. The Office of Language Access offers free written translation services, interpretation services for centrally organized events, connects schools with over-the-phone interpretation services and spearheads all system-wide language access efforts and initiatives.

All of our teachers have translation services available by phone when requested, and we can also provide on-site translation at school events. When you visit the school website there is a "Google Translate" button in the upper right corner of every page. Simply click on the language that you would like to translate the page to and the page will immediately appear in your language. Although you may not be able to immediately reach someone who understands your native language when you call the school, please do not hesitate to continue contacting the school at (212) 225-0998. just leave your child's name and phone number and we will contact you as soon as possible.
